Artist's Comments

This was hard to get. Deer tend to run away from people. There are some annoying human things in the background, but overall i'm fairly happy with it.

I like the autumnal shades against the pewtery sky and the golden grass. The deer is a nice touch but almost not necessary because the scenery is so striking and the (late-afternoon?) lighting makes richly colored.

I honestly can't see any human elements, though when I zoomed in, the first thing I was looking for was ... a hunter. Well, you did call it "The Appointment!" :)

Yes, it was a sunsetish time. You can actually see the exact time on the right bar (5:39:50 PM, though it think it meant 4:39 because I haven't changed my camera for day light savings yet).

Looking at the zoomed version, I guess you can't really see all that human stuff I was talking about because its still so small and compressed. On the version on my computer, you can see rooftops, fences, the works.

I never thought about that interpretation of the title that way, but I can see where your coming from. Thanks for the comment!

Wow. This is excellent!! Where taken?

This is so amazingly beautiful. Your recent work has just been really great. I love the composition, the richness in tones and depth, beautiful composition, surely worth the effort!
:iconwesterberg:
Strong composition in this one, but the foreground is much too warm. Tinker with the white balance a bit and this could be a great picture. :aww:

Picture perfect! :D

Simba's gone back to challenge Scar.
Who?
Scar.
Who's got a scar?
No, no, it's his Uncle.
The monkey's his uncle?
No! Simba's gone back to challenge his uncle to take his place as King!
Oooooooooooooooooooh...

Thanks. This was taken here:

Pretty much exactly, just to the left of that path you see on the right side. It's a fairly big meadow in the middle of UCSC.

Thanks, although I have to disagree with you. I didn't adjust the saturation at all in this picture, and it pretty much was like that in real life. The only increase in saturation that is probably seen is from the increase in contrast. Secoundly, I wanted to stress what Laurazee said was "autumnal shades against the pewtery sky and the golden grass". The piece is called "The Appointment" partly for that reason, for reasons i'll let you interpret on your own.

Thanks for the critique!
